Varisu Most recent UPDATE: Vijay starrer to have serious areas of strength for a with his next Thalapathy 67 featuring Sanjay Dutt - this is the way

 

The last release of Thalapathy Vijay, Beast, may have been critically bashed and underperformed at the box office, but there's no denying that up until then, the superstar had a fantastic run, with as many as six big hits in a row. Vijay will next be seen in Varisu aka Thalapathy 66, costarring Rashmika Mandanna and directed by Vamshi Paidipally. In fact, believe it or not, the ciritcal and commercial disappointment of Beast movie has only added to the excitement of actor Vijay's next movie. And now, we have a Varisu update that's going to augment that excitement for Thalapathy Vijay fans by several notches.

 

The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of Varisu have been purchased by Lalit Kumar, with an announcement for the same recently being made by Dil Raju, the producer of the movie, through a special entertainment news Diwali poster. Check it out above... For the uninitiated, Lalit Kumar and Thalapathy Vijay have previously worked together on the blockbuster Master. And while the Vamshi Paidipally directorial is the second time the duo will be collaborating, it doesn't end there as a third exciting collaboration is on the cards.

 

Vijay movie Varisu to have strong connection with Thalapathy 67

Incidentally, Lalit Kumar is also producing Vijay actor's next after Varisu, tentatively titled Thalapathy 67, which costars Sanjay Dutt. In other words, he'll be collaborating with the superstar for three movies in a row, setting the Tamil film industry and the latter's fans into a frenzy, given how every little development about him is know to create ripples in the realm of Tamil cinema. The connection doesn't end there though as there's word that Varisu might tie in with the plot of Thalapathy 67 as a extended universe for Vijay has long been speculated.

Varisu cast and release date

Rashmika Mandanna will be making her Tamil film debut opposite Thalapathy in Varisu, which costars Prakash Raj and Prabhudeva in key supporting roles. The movie will hit the big screen on 12th January 2023 as a grand Pongal release.
